The 16-Day Campaign is an international campaign held every year from November 25 to December 10 to prevent and eliminate violence against women and girls. The project is funded by the EEA and Norway Grants and will promote cooperation between Slovakia and Norway in the field of gender equality and work related to human rights.
In this project, we collaborate with the women’s shelter MyMamy in Presov, Slovakia and The Center for Equality, Norway to mark the 16-day campaign against gender-based violence in MyMamy's local community.
The content of the campaign is particularly aimed at young people in upper secondary school, with the aim of explaining what gender-based violence is. Activities in the campaign include the workshops "break the silence" and "Living Library", as well as a photo exhibition with messages that will promote gender equality and prevent gender-based violence. The campaign ends with a conference which includes a concert and a presentation of the project results with the theme "Not in our city”.
